Bridging the Gap

Due to the complexity of this project, Johnson Matthey looked to NorthStar to manage the construction of their new location in Malvern, PA. Divided into two phases, the entire project involved the renovation of 40,700 square feet of office space, laboratory, and light manufacturing facilities.

The first phase involved the demolition of the existing one-story office area, internal demolition of the pre-fabricated warehouse; renovation of the building with upgraded utility services; and fit-out of the laboratory, warehouse, and production/fabrication area. The second phase consisted of constructing a new two-story addition for office space on the front of the Phase 1 manufacturing building.

Coordination and communication between the local office and Johnson Matthey’s global headquarters in the UK was critical for quick updating and decision-making. Due to the success of this project, Johnson Matthey partnered with NorthStar on two additional projects.
